We are committed to protecting your privacy. Our tools are designed with a privacy-first approach — most of our tools process data entirely on your device and we do not collect or transmit your personal data unless absolutely necessary.

Short version: We collect very little data. Most tools work entirely in your browser. We don’t sell your data. We don’t track you across the web. We use third-party services only where necessary (like Gumroad for payments).
02 Who We Are
Vidaraa is an online platform that provides free and premium web-based tools and browser extensions designed to help people with everyday tasks — including text processing, image tools, developer utilities, finance calculators, health tools, and more.
We also develop browser extensions, including the Vidaraa – YouTube Video Downloader for Firefox, which allows users to download YouTube videos for personal offline use.

03 Data We Collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to operate our services. Here is a breakdown of what we may collect:
3.1 Information You Provide Voluntarily
- Email address — when you contact us, subscribe to updates, or purchase a Pro license via Gumroad.
- Support messages — when you reach out to us for help or report an issue.
- License activation details — your email and license key when activating a Pro plan on our extensions.
3.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Basic usage analytics — page views, general traffic data (if analytics are enabled). This is anonymised and aggregated — no personally identifiable information is stored.
- Browser and device type — collected in aggregate to help us optimise our tools for different browsers and screen sizes.
- IP address — may be logged temporarily by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention. We do not store or use IP addresses for tracking.
- Referral source — how you arrived at our site (e.g. search engine, direct link). Used in aggregate only.
3.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect the content you process using our tools (text, images, files, URLs, etc.).
- We do not collect your download history from our browser extensions.
- We do not collect financial information — all payments are handled by Gumroad.
- We do not build user profiles or track you across other websites.
04 How We Use Your Data
Any data we collect is used solely for the following purposes:
- To operate and improve our website and tools
- To respond to your support requests and enquiries
- To verify and activate Pro licenses for our extensions
- To send important service updates (only if you have opted in)
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud or security threats

05 Local Processing — Your Data Stays on Your Device
This is one of our core principles. The vast majority of Vidaraa tools process your data entirely within your browser. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.
This applies to tools such as:
- Text tools (word counters, case converters, text diff, etc.)
- Image tools (compressor, resizer, converter, etc.)
- Developer tools (JSON formatter, Base64 encoder, hash generator, etc.)
- Calculator and converter tools
- Our browser extensions (all download processing happens locally)
When you use these tools, the data you input — text, images, files — is processed by JavaScript running in your browser and is never transmitted to any server. It stays entirely on your device.
Some tools that require real-time data (such as currency converters with live exchange rates) may make API calls to fetch data. In these cases, your input is not sent — only a request for the relevant data is made.
06 Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use a minimal number of cookies and similar technologies. Here is what we use and why:
6.1 Essential Cookies
These are required for the website to function correctly. They do not track you and cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality. Examples include session management and security tokens.

08 Payments & Gumroad
All payments for Vidaraa Pro plans are processed by Gumroad, a third-party payment platform. When you make a purchase:
- You are redirected to Gumroad’s secure checkout
- Your payment details (card number, billing address) are entered directly on Gumroad’s platform — we never see or store your payment information
- Gumroad provides us with your email address and a transaction confirmation so we can deliver your license key
- Gumroad’s own Privacy Policy governs how they handle your payment data
We store only your email address and license key for the purpose of Pro license verification and support. We do not store any payment card details.

09 Browser Extensions
Our browser extensions (currently the Vidaraa – YouTube Video Downloader for Firefox) are designed with strict privacy principles:
- All processing is local — downloads are processed entirely on your device. No video data, URLs or download history is sent to our servers.
- No browsing history collection — we do not monitor, record or transmit your browsing activity.
- License verification — when you activate a Pro license, your email and license key are verified against our records. This is the only network request the extension makes on your behalf.
- No background tracking — the extension does not run in the background or collect data when you are not actively using it.
- Permissions — the extension requests only the minimum permissions necessary to function. You can review these in your Firefox Add-ons manager.
We comply with Firefox’s extension privacy requirements and Mozilla’s Add-on policies.
10 Children’s Privacy
Vidaraa is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@vidaraa.com and we will promptly delete that information.
11 Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

12 Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary:
- License records (email + license key) — retained for the lifetime of your Pro license to enable support and re-activation. Deleted upon request.
- Support correspondence — retained for up to 2 years to provide consistent support. Deleted upon request.
- Analytics data — anonymised and aggregated, retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked to individuals.
- Server logs — retained for up to 30 days for security purposes, then automatically deleted.

13 Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. These include:
- HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers
- Minimal data collection — the less we store, the less there is to protect
- Access controls limiting who within our team can access any stored data
- Regular review of our security practices
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
14 International Users
Vidaraa is accessible worldwide. If you are accessing our services from outside the country where our servers are located, your data may be transferred across international borders.
